Ah yes, Gustav was the same here. I was hoping Ike would allow us another day off with another hurricane party without actually hitting. Darn, it's close enough to give us hurricane-ish weather, blow my little car all over the highway, etc. but not close enough for a day off. Grrr! Martha :-)
We did that when we lived in Hawaii. We had a huge power outage, so everything had to get cooked before we lost it. The stores were even giving away ice cream. I do hope that you guy's make it through this storm o.k. Kelli http://journals.aol.com/kamdghwmw/noonmom
Glad all is well with you guys. Now it's time for you to restock the freezer. If that had happened to us, we'd be eating fish... there's lots of fish in the freezer from my husband's last trip to the coast. We just got a lot of rain where I live. It's nice to get those unexpected severe weather days off... as long as you don't lose your home during that time!! I tried to leave a comment in your new AIMs profile page, but it wouldn't accept. I'll try again later. Have a great week! bea
dear Marti, Awesome outcome! you'll never know how much I worried about you guys! and it went ok! whew~ love, nat p.s. looks like Corpus Christi and Houston will be hit hard
Okay, now that makes sense. I've always wondered why someone would party during a hurricane. Better to cook it all than see it go to waste when the electricity goes out. Glad you had a good time. Jude http://journals.aol.com/jmorancoyle/MyWay
