Answers to Dawn's Questions

I love your answers so far and here are my questions...

1.   What was the first concert at an arena or stadium that you went to see?    I was 11. It was 1967 and I was hysterical over seeing the Monkees! Oh, I was awkward and moody and obsessed.

2.   If you could banish one veggie and one fruit from ever existing which ones and why?  I'm not real crazy about beets but but I'm glad they are here.

Let me share a story about beets.

Tom and I traveled around the country & lived in a tent for awhile. His brother gave us a bunch of food to take with us. That night, as we wished on a star on the first camp of our journey, I asked Tom what he wished.

He said, "I wished I would never  get hungry enough to eat that can of beets."

we still have it.

It has been tenderly moved from every backpack, every cabinet, every place we have ever lived.

And while it has been rough at times, we have never been hungry.. .

3.   You can give ONE of your pets the power to speak from now until they pass, which pet would you pick and why?? The thing I like about my pets is that they CAN'T speak.....

Jack is charming, but I don't' think I'd like to hear, "Who pooped there? Let me pee on that tree! When are we eating?' in a very loud voice all day long.

Emily Kitty would say in a catty tone, "Do you really think you should wear that? Hmmmm, perhaps that last ice cream cone was a bad idea.'

Penny Lane would say, "oh, I'm so pretty, so helpless so sweet, pet me.....now have you got something to eat? Tell that handsome husband of yours to come over here. Don't you have something else to do now?"
No, I like them  fine the way they are.

Dawn, I love your questions and I love this game.

C'mon, let's all play!

Caitlin and my niece Holley are supposed to be getting home from camp sometime today and I am hungry for the sight of them.

The welcome home dinner is cooking. The house is all clean. (they usually do the housework, so I didn't want them to think I was a slob while they were gone, even though it is true!)

So I hope someone comes along on the other side of the screen to keep me busy until they come.

Caitlinwaitin,

Marti

My daughter was crazy about "Ya Ya We're The Monkees" too.  In 1967 I was already a mother to her and could barely stand seeing them on TV.   I love beets and beet greens too.   I wish my little Gabi could talk..I'd like to know how she ended up abondoned on the streets of Seattle back in 2005 before she came to live with me.    Linda in Washington

I think it would scare me if my animals could speak.

Do NOT be ashamed of loving The Monkees!!  Okay I'll ask my three questions:

1.  What TV show that is very popular currently do you have absolutely no interest in?

2.  What horror movie do you think is the absolute scariest and why?

3.  If you were a contestant on "Jeopardy" what category would you totally kick ass at?

I loved the Monkees!  I'm 10 years younger than you so I had to watch them in reruns!  But I loved Davy Jones!
