I spied Caitlin's boyfriend coming up the walk.
I watched him get out of the car
come about halfway to the door
stop
take a deep breath
check his fly
square his shoulders
and stride up to the door with his "manly" walk
(which has only recently been acquired)
It was just really cute.
Teens are cute
the same way toddlers are cute
straddling separate identities
baby to child
child to adult
Aren't they precious?

They are precious. And the sad thing is that at age, they sometimes don't know how precious they are. I think the teenage years are the hardest time for kids as far as their self image is concerned. Linda in Washington state

I know... it is cute. I remember watching my son go through his own stretching and posturing into manhood. I don't think he'd find it as cute as we do... but someday, looking back, they'll see their own innocence. So glad you caught the memory. What a sweet one. bea

Wow! This took me back to high school when I started dating this guy who also had a "manly" walk. Funny looking back...I hated that walk...arrogant I thought but didn't hate it enough to turn him down when he asked me out. We have been married almost 12 years now! :) Thanks for visiting!
