Grace

a few things happened today that made me feel a touch of grace
I'd like to share them with you

a young woman comes in the classroom
her handicapped blind child on one shoulder
her 3 month old beautiful baby on the other
baby screaming
her face is totally composed
she is so serene
I have to stop in my frenzied preparation for the day
and enter her world
all is content there
She hands me the baby
kisses her son
In her eyes
a joy
I talk to a mother
about her daughter
who has a severe seizure disorder
leaving her mentally slow
"she is a gift from God"
her mother says
her face glows
Do they know their lives are poems?

I've never been that strong or content....and I never will be.  But it's good to know that there are people out there who are.

How wonderful.  Every child is a gift from God.  God always gives handicapped children to those he knows can cope the most and see the beauty in everything.

If she feels that way then God will give her the strength it is going to take to care for these two children in the coming years ahead. May he bless her richly. Helen

Okay, let me dry my tears first. Good luck with your new school year and all your new students. That one tugged at my heart strings. It takes a special person to take one of God's trials and turn it into a joy.

You are blessed to do a job that gives back to others. I am never envious of other, but Marty, I would love to do a job like yours. I know it would be hard, and sometimes heart breaking but so rewarding.
