Birthday Party 1

We went to Florida to see Dana for my first birthday party. How do you like my hat Caitlin made for me?

Dont' I look like the Pope?
This is my family of choice
my brothers
my sisters
all these kids are mine
not by blood
but
I've wiped their noses
held their hands
watched their sports
tucked them in
loved them
It was so much fun!
We drank mojitos
spilled mojitos
ignored the kids snitching mojitos....
we swam
floated
told old tales
painted the dock
and watched Harry Potter 3 projected  on an old bedsheet on the dock under the stars.
The next day,
more sun
more laughter
dinner at a favorite Mexican restaurant
and home
My tires are so bad I was weaving at Interstate speeds
I didn't realize this
So I'm lucky
(blessed)
we got back okay
you know, I started to post a disclaimer saying that we are not as redneck as we appear in these photos
but no....

Looks a wonderful time. I wonder if we're going to see any Summer this year, instead of acres of water. I'm getting fed up of posting my disaster flood pictures.

Party #1 looks like a blast! You should have called, I could have helped with the painting, much better than the kind of painting I've been doing!
No more road trips until you get some new tires! Can't wait to hear about party #2! Martha :-)

Hey,Marti!...I see YOU just turned 51 the other day.  Well, Happy Birthday, youngster!  LOL!  My twin sister, Sande, and I just turned 52 on the 12th of July, so we're 104!  I've been reading your "Porch Stories" for a while now and I thought I'd just drop in and say "hi" today.  I hope you don't mind.

Happy Porches will travel! Once again - HAPPY BIRTHDAY to you my friend!!!! Now I see where the family get their good looks! As for you looking like the Pope (maybe after a few more Mojitos). Happy to hear of the happiness - it is well deserved! Have a good one!
